Designing for Belonging: Providing Support for Students (Online)
About this event
This 30-minute workshop is reserved for ASU faculty, staff, and TAs.
This orientation will be held online and will not be recorded.
Join us for our Designing for Belonging series!
As a public research university, we want to be known for who we include rather than who we exclude. Instructors are uniquely positioned to design spaces of belonging and inclusion in their courses. Join us throughout the month of October as we explore ways to design spaces of belonging and inclusion and create technologies that are responsive to a diverse student community.
Providing Support for Students
Supporting students in the classroom goes beyond teaching them an academic subject. Providing students with other systems of support such as academic tutoring, support from the library, health services, and more allows your students to access needed services freely. This not only provides them with a better academic experience through their time at Arizona State University but also shows them that their instructors and others care about their well-being as humans. Join us as we discuss the different supports Arizona State University offers to students and how those resources can be deployed in your courses.
Target Audience: ASU Educators and other staff who are interested in learning about how to incorporate academic and wellness resources into their course.
