In this concise 15-minute presentation, participants will be introduced to the core strategies for creating accessible PDF documents that meet the needs of diverse users, including those with disabilities. The session will highlight essential techniques such as using heading structures, adding alternative text for images, and ensuring proper structure for lists and tables. By the end of this short session, attendees will have a foundational understanding of the most critical steps they can take to ensure their PDFs are accessible and user-friendly.

Tapati Sen is an Instructional Designer Associate with Enterprise Technology at Arizona State University. Passionate about supporting faculty and staff in leveraging educational technology, Tapati Sen specializes in course design and technology integration. With a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University, Tapati Sen brings a rich background in education, having taught Chemistry at the Maricopa Community Colleges for 9 years before transitioning to the instructional design field. Tapati Sen has facilitated numerous workshops on topics such as Canvas LMS, Accessibility, and AI tools, and has co-created valuable resources, including Canvas courses, tool kits, experience kits, and videos to help faculty support student learning through technology.
