As a university that prides itself on inclusion, sometimes we don't forget to consider how ot be inclusive with social media. Though accessible social media may seem daunting, it's very easy to do and important to implement. Many times we focus a lot on our the visuals or getting the text just right and we forget that we don't all consume content in the same way. When you make accessible content a foundation for your production, it's very easy to make a big difference for those who truly need it and can make a big difference for your social media communties.

This presentation will encourage instructors to rethink their course design and policies to utilize Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to allow all students opportunities to be successful in their learning endeavors. A review of the reasons why UDL should be used, as well as how it helps all students will be provided. A discussion on how to engage in conversations with individuals to ask about their support needs will also occur.

Join us for an enlightening panel discussion, featuring the voices of students who have faced the challenges of inaccessible design, but also the benefits of thoughtfully designed courses, materials, and websites. This panel will share their experiences, make recommendations, and answer your questions in a safe environment. Participating in this discussion is a great way to understand how even the smallest choices can have a profound impact on the people you serve.
