Canvas Sites for Accessibility

Faculty need to ensure that Canvas pages and content are accessible. The Canvas Accessibility Checker and Ally indicators can help identify issues in your Canvas course.

Accessibility Tools

Canvas Accessibility Checker

The Canvas Accessibility Checker is built into the Rich Content Editor test test (RCE) and helps you catch issues on each Canvas page, like missing alt text, poor color contrast, or improper heading structure. It flags problems as you edit and shows you exactly how to fix them on the spot. Use it anytime you’re creating content directly in Canvas to ensure it's accessible.

Ally in Canvas

The Ally tool in Canvas uses color-coded indicators to assist faculty in identifying files with potential accessibility issues.
